2023 CKC HIGH SELLING DOE_IRON MAIDEN.jpg

ROW IRON'S MAIDEN

We would like to congratulate and thank Brandon Bishop with Mystic Hills Kikos of GA for his confidence in this doe. Maiden was the 2023 CKC high selling doe and was sold bred to ROW Warson. She is a direct daughter of COO Iron Horse out of one of our very best does, Oreo. Oreo also produced the 2023 MPI high selling doe (see below) and has earned a special place here at Rowland Hills Farm at nearly 8 years old and after 6 years of producing top performing Kikos. We sincerely hope that Maiden will do the same and more for Brandon.  We already miss seeing her in our pastures but are looking forward to seeing what she produces for Mystic Hills Farm in the coming years.

ROW GENERATOR'S GENNI

ROW Generator's Genni was the 2023 AKI high selling doe and was sold to Aaron Whiteman-Neal and Melissa Neal of Virginia. She is a direct daughter of the well known Goatex Generator. Her dam, who we affectionately call Char Char is double bred Terminator's XX and a granddaughter of Blue's Son and TAY Onyx and although she is still young, she consistently produces some of our finest kids. We consigned Genni exposed to two bucks, ROW Blue Brawler (a son of Blue's Son) and ROW Crazy 8 (a son of LEN 8). and we are looking forward seeing those kids this season and what she produces in years to come.

SIRE: HONCHO'S KEEPER
DAM: LRF OREO 385
DOB: 01/07/2021

WW: 50.20 LBS

NKR PEDIGREE

This doe was sired naturally here by our senior herd sire Honcho's Keeper. Honcho has been with us here since 2019 and has been a game changer for our herd

and others. His kids are tough, parasite resistant, with large meaty frames. Honcho has the best feet on our farm and passes this trait to his offspring making our lives less hectic. He is very mild natured and seems to pass his calm temperament to many of his kids as well. We have gotten and continue to get amazing feedback from farms who are using his genetics in their programs. We can't say enough about the multiple generations of does that we have and those on other farms that we have continued to follow in other herds as they mature into fine producing Kikos themselves.

Her dam is LRF Oreo 385 out of LRF Oreo 4. She decends from TAY W 65 Princess Oreo Q Farms, a daughter of Tasman Zorro. She is seven years old and still has a beautiful well attached udder with pinky size teats. She is quick to dry up after weaning and is always body condition ready for our next breeding season. Oreo has produced nothing less than amazing offspring here for us while pairing her with multiple herd sires. Legacy and her sister Laney, who remains in our herd, came from Oreo's first breeding with Honcho and we have been more impressed than ever. Oreo has always produced better than herself but these girls have broken the mold. We will continue to retain does from Oreo for production in our own herd adding to the four generations we currently have.

Legacy was born at an ideal weight, weaned at an exceptional weight, weighed in at 117 lbs at 11 months old, and was 186 lbs when we put her on the scale in April of this year.

We couldn't have been more proud of Legacy and yet so humbled by her being the high selling doe at the 2023 MPI event when she was among so many amazing does. It gives us a renewed desire to continue to strive to produce the best we can offer. She was purchased by James and Ashley Mansfield of Ashfield Farm Kikos in Florida and we hope that she proves her value in their herd for many years to come. Thank you James and Ashley for your confidence in our Kikos!

ROW BLUE'S SUNDAE

LOT # 61

TAG # 0521
100% NEW ZEALAND
SIRE: BLUE'S SON
DAM: MCR H169 AKA SUNDAE
DOB: 01/05/22
BIRTH RANK: TRIPLET

BW: 7 LBS 3 OZ
WW:  49.60LBS
1 YRW: 92 LBS

NKR PEDIGREE

Lot 61 is ROW Blue’s Sundae.

She is a direct daughter of Blue’s Son who is well known for his extremely successful tested genetics and a line that is highly sought after by many in the Kiko community. We wanted to also give a little background on her dam. Her dam is MCR 1169 but we’ve called her Sundae since the Sunday that she arrived at our farm (that’s another story). Sundae was not a lighthearted choice as the recipient for the Blue’s Son straw in 2021. She is a daughter of MCR Rock Solid, who is a son of Iron Horse with successful performance test data dating back to the MD Buck Test, out of a Nick (Sunboy Stanton 149) daughter on her top side.

On her dams side she is a granddaughter of JDR Romeo, a son of LEN 8. Romeo is one of the most successful performance sires in the breed. I’m the W MD Buck Test he sired a top 7 overall buck in ‘13, top 8 ADG buck ‘14, top 10 FRC, top 10 ADG, and top 10 overall in ’15, top 15 ADG in ‘16, and in 2018 at the WV Buck Test top 20 (of 124) His daughters and sons have also produced bucks that performed well on test. Aside from all of the off farm performance, she has been a fantastic producer here weaning twins in 20’ and 21’, triplets in 22’, and twins again this year.  In 2022 Blue’s Sundae was weaned at 49.6 lbs, her sister weaned at 47.6 lbs, and her brother at 53 lbs for a total of 150 lbs of weaned kids out of a 125 lb doe with a beautiful, well attached udder. We consider that exceptional and hope that Blue’s Sundae, like her dam, continues on to perform above the standard and produce the type of quality that we all appreciate in Kikos.

DOB: 01/05/22
BIRTH RANK: TWIN
BW: 6 LBS 15 OZ
WW:  54 LBS

NKR PEDIGREE

Lot 135 is ROW Warrior Princess.

Her sire Warsaw, nicknamed Warrior, is a name well known throughout the Kiko community and he is a legend when it comes to parasite resistance. Her dam is PJM Copyright/Austin’s Boy H17 but we call her Big Momma. She weighed in at 217 lbs last fall at 3 years old. She is the largest and thankfully one of the most submissive does in our herd. After seeing a post with her photo Sky Shivers (SKY) commented, “Have had a working relationship with a lot of the goats in her pedigree. She looks like the accumulation of all those  grand performance proven genetics. In my opinion she could be the maternal poster goat for Kikos.”  According PJ Murphy, her sire,

SKY 213 Blue's Copyright - combines the hugely successful tested genetics of Blue's Son and his dam was a full sister to the equally noted Titan - the sire of Hammer. Copyright has earned his place as a legendary sire and grand sire of performance tested genetics. Sire of multiple top ten bucks in the Forage Based Maryland Test, Sire and Grandsire of Multiple Winners of the WV Feedlot Test. His daughters have produced several Top-Ten Test bucks in multiple performance tests for their farms. One of the most successful Performance Tested Kiko Sires ever. Big Momma was specifically chosen as a recipient for the Warsaw straw in 2021 as we hoped to enhance the performance tested genetics as well as enhance the Warsaw side with a larger frame, boosting size and meatiness. We hope Warrior Princess will continue on to produce extremely hardy, meaty, parasite resistant lines that will impact the breed in a great way.

SKY W024 WAPANUKA_IMG_9231.JPG

2 STRAWS OF SKY W024 WAPANUKA

LOT # 68

100% NEW ZEALAND
SIRE: BLUE'S SON
DAM: AFK Y30
DOB: 03/11/07

NKR PEDIGREE
2 STRAWS OF WAPANUKA, STORED AT FLATROCK
WAPANUKA WAS THE LITTERMATE BROTHER TO WARSAW.

SKY W 024 Wapanuka is the littermate brother to SKY W018 Warsaw. Wapanuka was a blue roan buck and at the time that was not a highly sought after look according to Sky Shivers so he chose to test Warsaw who was solid black.

Wapanuka’s dam was AFK Y30 who was a daughter of Sunboy Stanton 149, better know as Nick, who is of course a Moneymaker son. On his sires side he is a direct son of Blue’s Son who is known as a “papered son” of Moneymaker. We produced twins out of Wapanuka here in 2022. The buckling weaned at 54 lbs and the doeling weaned at 46.4 lbs. Both continued to exceed our expectations after weaning. The doe was consigned to the Inaugural CKC last fall and was purchased by The Abandoned Dog Kiko Goats. The buck was sold off farm to a new producer in January of this year and will now be siring a herd of his own. One of the things we were most impressed with here as we watched the twins grow was their size. Both the doe and the buck were large, well muscled, and had nice large frames. As expected, they maintained blood red FAMANCHA’s. We have Wapanuka genetics in our herd doing extremely well and we are anxious to add more but we are also pleased to offer this opportunity to others this year at the NKR Spotlight Sale.
